PHOTO ARCHIVE CO
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What exactly is photo organizing?
Photo organizing is a professional, done-for-you service designed to rescue your scattered family memories. We take every photo —from phones, old hard drives, cloud accounts, and SD cards, etc. —and consolidate them into one clean, secure, and easy-to-use digital archive. The result is a simple, structured system that eliminates duplicates, organizes everything chronologically, and finally allows you to find, share, and enjoy your most cherished moments without stress or overwhelm. We handle all the technical details so you can enjoy the peace of mind of a complete, future-proofed collection.
2. How do I get my photos to you?
You have three secure options, depending on what’s easiest for you:
Mailing your devices (hard drives, USBs, phones, or computers) using a highly secure, tracked process with detailed, step-by-step instructions we provide
Uploading digitally through a private, encrypted transfer system if your photos already live in the cloud or on your computer
Hybrid Approach (Mailing & Upload): Many clients have photos split between physical devices (old hard drives) and cloud accounts. For this, we can combine both methods: you mail the devices with the oldest, most inaccessible photos, and then use the secure digital upload for your newer, more easily accessible files. This ensures every memory is included in the most streamlined way possible.
We’ll help you choose the safest and simplest option for your situation.
3. Is it safe to mail my photos and hard drives?
Yes. We use the most secure shipping process available, including tracked delivery and strict handling procedures once your items arrive. You’ll receive clear mailing instructions, including a prepaid shipping label, so everything is packaged properly and protected in transit.
We work with irreplaceable family memories every day, and security is treated as non-negotiable.
4. Can I upload my photos instead of mailing them?
Absolutely. If you prefer not to mail anything, we offer a secure upload option using encrypted transfer technology. This works well for cloud-based libraries, digital files stored on your computer, or clients who want to manage the transfer themselves.
5. Do you digitize printed photos and albums?
Yes — physical photos, albums, and loose prints can be digitized. Because every collection is different, this portion of the project is custom-quoted based on quantity, condition, and format. We’ll walk through your specific situation before recommending next steps.
6. Is there a limit to how many photos you can organize?
No. Whether you have a few thousand photos or well over 100,000, the process scales. Larger libraries simply require more time and are priced accordingly. We’ll always review your photo volume upfront so there are no surprises.
7. What types of photos do you organize?
We work with:
Phone photos and videos
Digital camera files
Scanned images
Cloud libraries (Apple Photos, Google Photos, etc.)
External hard drives and USBs
If you’re not sure what you have or where everything lives, that’s completely normal — and part of what we help untangle.
8. Will anything be deleted without my permission?
No. We follow a conservative, professional approach. Duplicate and near-duplicate files are carefully reviewed, and nothing is permanently removed without approval. Your originals are always protected.
9. What does the final result look like?
You’ll receive a beautifully organized digital archive that’s easy to browse, search, and enjoy — plus clear guidance on how to keep it organized going forward. In addition, all packages include a 100-150 page heirloom album as part of their project.
10. How long does the process take?
Timelines vary depending on the size and complexity of your archive, but almost all projects can be complete in about 90 days. After an initial assessment, we’ll give you a realistic timeframe so you know exactly what to expect before we begin.
11. Do I need to be tech-savvy to do this?
Not at all. This service is designed specifically for people who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or behind. We handle the technical details and make the experience as simple as possible for you.
12. How do I get started?
The first step is a Family Legacy Assessment — a short, no-pressure conversation where we learn about your photos, your goals, and the best way to move forward. From there, we’ll outline a clear plan tailored to your family. Book your call HERE and click the button below.
